Anacaona Anguilla Anguilla has a reputation. The exclusive island prides itself on being upscale, classy and a cut above the typical Caribbean getaway spot. It offers beaches that are unforgettable and gourmet cuisine that is among the best I’ve had on a Caribbean island bar none. Unfortunately, that led to a reputation for also being very expensive. But while it’s true that the island has villas that will make your wallet blush, smaller properties are popping up that aren’t compromising  the upscale island but are offering some more affordable lodging.

Enter Anacaona Boutique Hotel – 27 air conditioned rooms, free Wi-Fi, two swimming pools, room service on the beach, iPod docking stations  and room rates as low as $150 per night  (eight months of the year) and $250 per night (winter) for a double.

And currently they’ve got a few deals on offer:

* “Pay for 5, Stay for 7”  – two nights on the house for two people sharing any category of room or suite (depending on availability). From April 1 through December 16, regular rates start at just $150 a night double*.

*

*

“Anacaona Getaway” – 4-night package that includes two continental breakfasts daily, 2 dinners for two, massages for two, a bottle of wine on arrival, transfers from and to the point of entry, government tax and service charge — all for $1,340 double occupancy (standard room, higher for superior rooms and suites)  from April 1 through December 16.

* “ Amorous Anacaona” – all the attractions in “Getaway” (above) but on this 7-night package guests also get a day’s car rental, an evening of dinner-theater with Mayoumba and a boat trip to Prickly Pear islet where TV’s The Bachelor took one of his dates for a romantic picnic and a tree with your names planted in the garden (the Bachelor never thought of that one!) – all from $2,395 for two in a standard room  from April 1 through December 16.
