Riding a camel looks like so much fun. When I was your age the only camel I had ever ridden was at the Toronto Zoo (and the zoo keepers were definitely not allowing us to run on them). Hopefully one day I will get to ride (and run!) on a camel in India too.

The original thrill ride! Awesome. I will live vicariously as I am afraid of even riding horses. You are an adventurer, Cam!

Heather, now that I've found you guys I'm making my way through older posts and this one really struck me. My husband and I spent a year in China teaching English and this was our experience more times than we could count. On one occasion, we got off of a bus that had taken us from Dali to Chengdu and got into a cab to take us to the Chengdu train station to catch a train to Xian. When we got to the Chengdu station, a man came running through the station towards us, frantic to reach us. He had my husband's jacket. It took us a minute to figure out where we had left it, but we figured it out: we had left it on the bus. Yeah, this perfect stranger noticed we left the coat, picked it up and followed us clear across town from the bus station to the train station to return it to us. Can you imagine? I would have considered it a "good deed of the day" if I'd picked it up and given it to the lost & found. This guy wasn't going to be satisfied until he'd actually handed it to its rightful owner himself. Now that's SOMETHING. We loved the Muslim quarter of Xian too! Did you eat the lamb skewers? We ate our fill as we played dice games with the locals and improved our Chinese vocab!

Can't wait to keep reading more!
