Only three days in to our visit to this country on the other side of South Africa we are smitten. The boys know the difference between a leopard and a cheetah, are rethinking whether – instead of an elephant  – they might opt for a giraffe for a pet  and finding the wide open spaces they’ve been craving for months.

At Okonjima Lodge, Ish has found a new favourite animal in the leopard and a great custom in the safari sundowner.

And me? I’m content to be leaning back into the comfort of a safari wagon, camera at the ready, continuously amazed that we share this planet with this kind of beauty.
