One year ago today we pulled back into our driveway after a year together on the road.
When we got here we weren’t sure what to expect but we knew that the year ahead of us would prove as challenging as our year away. We were right.
It hasn’t always been easy to be home but it hasn’t always been hard either.
There is much to share about our year and about what lies ahead for my family of four. Starting next week each member of my traveling brood will share some of that here with you. We’ve all had different challenges to face and we’ve ended up, one year later, changed for it.
What has been constant throughout the last two years is this space. We love this blog and have been thrilled to hear that many of you enjoy it too. Your support through comments, callouts and shares hasn’t gone unnoticed and we’ve all appreciated it.
It’s what led to our revamping of the site! More on this next week too but suffice it to say that thanks to Elan Morgan (@schmutzie) and Jen Wilson (@jenwilsonca ) we’ve been able to spruce things up around here. Our hope is that the new site will make it easier for you to access and share information.
As for today – the official one year anniversary of our return – we’re spending the day together in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec making the most of the moment… just like our year away taught us to do.
When we raise our glasses of wine and chocolate milk tonight to celebrate, you can be sure that we will be toasting all of you as well.
Cheers!
Heather, Ish, Ethan and Cameron
you guys are amazing! enjoy the anniversary!
Thanks Fimo. Hoping we see you soon. Make it so!
Hi Heather. I read your story in the O magazine and found your website. This is so amazing. You are living the life I dream of, to write and take my children traveling but on a smaller level.
It has been great reading all of your posts, learning about your travels and family. I was so excited I made my husband sit down to read and view your pics. You are an amazing woman! Thanks so much for sharing.
I know you must be busy but I hope you can take some time out to view my blog. You will see I plan to take my children over the next 12 yrs to see all 50 states…that’s why I said my vision is on a smaller level. You have been an inspiration to me. Maybe I should think bigger!
