I’m not sure about you, but I’m as predictable as they come when it comes to Aeroplan rewards. As someone who has been a cardholder for years and who has shared the value I’ve found in the program on these pages many times, I’m well aware of the myriad of ways I can use my points. I know I can dig into the stockpile to buy everything from jewelery to vacumn cleaners. But every time I go in to redeem them it’s the travel rewards that catch my eye.
That might change with the programs latest offerings. Distinction members now have access to dExclusives – new benefits and privileges that take the level of what your Miles can buy you to an entirely different level.
Under Aeroplan’s latest program, Distinction members can bid against each other using their Aeroplan Miles on a wide variety of one-of-a-kind rewards. From professional sporting events to sold out concerts to (woohoo!) once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities.
Among the dExclusive offerings:
* A trip to the World soccer championships in Brazil, another to the PGA championship or head off to Paris and Bordeau for an exclusive day with Chef Ricardo (!) under the “Escapes” branch of offerings
* Tickets to exclusive access concerts and sporting events through their “In the City” offerings
* and the opportunity to bid on priceless items like customized signed guitars from Alanis Morissette or a Team Canada Olympic jersey autographed by PK Subban from the “Money Can’t Buy” collection.
Here’s how it works:
Browse – Distinction members can check out all the rewards currently available for auction at the dExclusives auction site
Bid – Place an entry or maximum bid on the site.
Win – If you’re the highest bidder when the auction closes, you win. Miles will be automatically debited from your account and you will be contacted by an Aeroplan dExclusives representative about the next steps.
In addition, Distinction members will also have a chance to bid on ‘Redeem Now’ opportunities – special rewards offered in limited quantities and at a fixed amount of miles.
