It’s true what you’ve heard. The path to love begins in the kitchen. It was on a food-focused run to San Diego, California that I first fell in love with the city. I’m heading back tomorrow to attend the #NABJ conference and I’m giddier than a school girl with a crush.
A jam-packed itinerary and the opportunity to meet and greet journo celebs like Soledad O’Brien and my mom’s fave Dr. Oz, means I probably won’t have time to be driving a Go-Car or noshing at my favourite meat-cation spots on this trip. I am hoping, however, to make it into the Linkery for some Kombucha tea and will NOT miss a stop at the Burger Lounge which is down the road from my hotel.
I won’t have the kids with me so visits to Disney and Legoland will likely have to wait for another trip, but I’m hoping to uncover some shopping spots and a maybe even a wine bar or two worth sharing with you.
And in the time that’s left I plan to get up close and personal with the laid back California vibe which in my mind includes a chaise lounge, a pretty drink and a pool cabana.
Bring. It. On.
Have you found your pool cabana yet? Did you actually get time to sit and relax? I bet you didn’t, but I want to hear all about the famousse journalists.
No pool cabana! So cold here but the conference has been inspiring and I plan to see a lounge about a burger later today. ;)
What’s NABJ? This trip sounds amazing. I want that burger!
“National Association of Black Journalists” – great group. And I went back to Burger Lounge and it was even better the second time around. HIGHLY recommended. I’ll post pics soon.
I heard you have a cuz that live in LA, did you get chance to link up?
ha! no not this trip but hopefully soon. :)
