Palm Beach County, Florida: Baseball fans can head to Palm Beach County to catch spring training for the Florida Marlins and the St. Louis Cardinals. Several hotels and resorts are offering discounted rates and specials for visitors throughout March and April.  Ritz- Carlton Palm Beach is offering the “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” package that includes box seats, batting practice, behind-the-scenes Clubhouse tour, pre-game festivities, ceremonial first pitch, honorary bat kid, media start pack, and more.  Rates start at $799 U.S. for quadruple occupancy. Caribbean: The Ritz-Carlton Hotels of the Caribbean are inviting families to “escape icy temperatures” with a $100 U.S. daily resort credit and daily breakfast for two. I recently wrote about the hotel chain’s incredible Ambassadors of the Environment program which is an amazing educational opportunity for kids. Among the Caribbean offerings:

The Four Seasons Resort Dallas (Texas) has the Escape Package starting from $195  U.S. per night, There are no resort fees but there is a requisite two-night stay. You’ll also get 15% off all activities at the resort, a kids under 12 dine free program (all kids menus in all outlets AND room service!). The resort is also offering a second room at 50% if you need it and the complimentary Kids for All Seasons Program (9 – 5 pm daily ) for kids aged 10 and younger. When you add in the complimentary resort facilities including complimentary yoga, water aerobics, two 18-hole golf courses, 12 tennis courts and close proximity to area attractions like the National Boy Scout Museum and the National Cowgirl Museum, filling your day won’t be a problem.

Closer to home The Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver has “Kids in the City,” a family package starting from $405 CDN (a second room for the kids is 50% off  – more than $200 in savings) includes souvenir t-shirts for kids aged 5-12 as well as child-sized robes in the room and a Kids’ Activity Concierge out by the pool daily offering everything from arts and crafts to face painting and scavenger hunt.  Breakfast at YEW restaurant is complimentary for kids and they can trade in their napkins for aprons when their done and participate in the “Kids in the kitchen” program with Chef Oliver and learn secrets like how to make the perfect cookie.
