Perfect Getaways for Father's Day - Our Community Shares their ultimate destinations

Galway City, Ireland

This bustling cosmopolitan city, once a small fishing village, is located on the west coast of Ireland. In addition to offering amazing beaches, it is a thriving cultural centre. Make this your destination during the Galway Arts Festival in July and take in the best in music, dance, street performance, art and children’s activities. This is one of Ireland’s leading arts festivals. You can also find a museum, aquarium and national park to keep you and your dad busy year round. Be sure to stop in for a pint at one of the old world bars and get that traditional Irish experience.

Azores, Portugal

Escape to the middle of the Atlantic and stay on one of the 9 islands that make up the Azores of Portugal. I was here recently and I can see why our community named this as a must-visit place with their dad. It is gorgeous, and there is a lot to see and do. You and Dad will have plenty to keep you busy. Memories can be made hiking, whale watching, trying out water sports, lounging around the beach or pool, golfing, biking and more. It is an outdoor lover’s paradise so pack your walking shoes.

Juneau, Alaska

Another place for outdoor adventurists is Juneau, Alaska. Travel to this north state and experience wildlife in their natural habitat. You might spot an orca, seal, eagle, bear or other animal as you take scenic trips around Juno. There are great opportunities for sport fishing, for multi-day cruises and for glacier exploration. And don’t forget the food: take a Juneau food tour!
