What’s your favourite summer road trip memory?
As a kid, we did a lot of road trips. East Coast of Canada including PEI. We went annually to South Carolina. I can taste those hushpuppies now and remember listening to hours of music on my walkman. We haven’t done anything longer than Tremblant or Muskoka with the kids…. YET! But can’t wait to get driving.
What is your top tip for Family road trips?
Pack food! And lots of it.
What’s the one thing you wish you’d known before you set out on your first family road trip?
Top 3 snacks for in the car?
Pre-made sandwiches, frozen grapes (they don’t get mushy) and pretzels.
Worst snack for in the car?
MacDonald’s. I have stories of puking at the side of the road.
Musts on the road trip playlists?
Paul Simon
I most embarrass my kids in the car when I….
Lip synch and dance. Luckily they are still young… I can only imagine this will get way worse. I can still get them to join in willingly.
My kids drive me nuts in the car when they…
Don’t pee when asked and then have to go 30 minutes after leaving.
Dream road trip destination?
I’ve done a lot of road trips on my own… haven’t done the mid-west US. So that’s definitely on my list. Hope to do both east and west coasts with the kids one day.
