Toronto is often in the spotlight when it comes to attracting travellers. In our virtual travel series, travelling Canada, we’re taking a look at some of the smaller towns in Canada that also offer plenty to do and see. We’ve “visited” Miramachi New Brunswick.

This time we’re looking at Central Ontario, including the regions of York and Durham. For Torontonians, a trip to York and Durham can be a big adventure, with a short travel time. For little kids especially, simple trips like this can have a lasting impact. These trips in Ontario’s Central counties, just outside Toronto, offer the exact kind of memory-making moments we all crave.

Here’s a selection of family-friendly events happening in central Ontario.
