I’m back from Chicago and I swear it’s still looking at me.
The Eye. One of the newest street-side installations in the windy city is causing quite a stir. The 30-foot high authentic replica of an eyeball sits in Pritzker Park and debuted earlier this month.
My question is why.
I know you’re not supposed to question art but seriously? An eyeball? What’s next a colon? kidney? prostate gland?
And why one? Don’t they come in pairs usually?’
I don’t get it and I suppose the artist would argue I don’t have to.
But this much is true (Spandau Ballet fans hum along here) if eyes – correction AN eye – on the sidewalk is your thing, Chicago has exactly what you’re looking for.
