Winter in Canada can elicit one of two very specific reactions. Either you embrace it wholeheartedly, don your toque and hit the slopes. Or you begin the frantic search for sun and sand the moment the first wind blows. My opinion? Trips to Mexico and the Caribbean should be built into the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Ottawa loves winter. My husband and kids love winter. I, however, do not.
So, although the thought of heading to the city always makes me happy, the idea of celebrating winter there was not high on my list. I’m more of a “call me when the tulips come out” kind of girl.
